黃國展大師兄，於外丹功雜誌第三期P：13頁，對「水火相濟」有一些說法：他引用大師言：「人身有五火＝一，君火，君火是心火； 二，臣火，臣火是腎火；三，是民火，民火是膀胱之火；四，無名之火，急怒之火，長生之火，長生之火，是定中之火；五，周天之火，周天之火，任督之火。以上五火，除去無名之火， 只有四火，四火若不知斂散之壳。一味專鍊四火之一火或二火、三火、四火、殊不知炎上而不知煉或導散， 是為孽矣。炎上或導散，必須以求濟之，方可無孽而煉成平地之仙」。
習外丹功要知水之功也。水本在人身，非江河之水也，水在人身外發為汗、為溲、為洟、為血、為涎、為沫；而在人身內發者， 腦為髓海、心為血海、丹田為炁海、脾胃為水穀之海、百骸則百川也，
習外丹功可推之水之妙用大矣，倘不知水之大用，一路玩火是孽也，孽「災殃」也。習者當明水火既濟之法...........
